T&E Europe's leading advocates for clean transport and energy. We combine the power of robust evidence and a deep understanding of the transport sector with compelling communications and impactful advocacy. Our people work across Europe: colleagues in Brussels, Rome, Berlin, Madrid, Paris, Warsaw and London collaborate with our 63 member and supporter groups to achieve our mission.

Our vision for the coming years is to deliver a zero-emission transport and energy system that is affordable, circular, and has minimal impacts on our health and the environment.

For over 30 years, we've shaped key European environmental laws. We got the EU to set the world’s most ambitious CO2 standards for cars and trucks; helped uncover the dieselgate scandal; campaigned successfully to end palm oil diesel; secured a global ban on dirty shipping fuels and the creation of the world’s biggest carbon market for aviation. In 2022, T&E’s campaigning led to the EU ending the sales of new combustion engine cars and vans by 2035.

As Europe's leading advocates for clean transport and energy, we work tirelessly to transform the aviation industry towards clean fuels, new technology and demand reduction that can put us on a path to cleaner, sustainable flying. From Europe to the global stage, we are uniting governments, civil society, industry leaders and other progressive stakeholders to chart a course toward a carbon-free aviation sector. • Supporting the building and implementation of national strategies in key markets.
  • Leading on fundraising for the aviation team and the organisation.
  • Coordinating policy positions and strategies with other Directors and Senior Directors.
  • Leading and guiding the team in efforts to build partnerships with key aviation industry players such as airlines, manufacturers, and airports.
  • Maintain and grow T&E’s media impact in key European and international media markets
  • Commissioning and delivery of impactful research (including market research, emissions analysis, etc.).

Profile

The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Be politically savvy with a proven record of developing and implementing policy strategy leading to change.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

  • Strong interpersonal and team-working skills, and a willingness to develop a network in the aviation sector;
  • Good financial acumen, with experience in budget management;
  • Excellent coordination skills, with an ability to engage with, build and manage multi-stakeholder coalitions;
  • The confidence to think and act with initiative, to engage and influence policy-makers of different stripes, industry representatives and other stakeholders at the highest level;
  • The ability and motivation to learn technical, economic and legal information, to independently develop new political, economic or legal arguments and evidence and use them to convince key stakeholders;
